Hi!
My mom is wondering why no one has put anything up yet (its been 10 min since we started it) but I thought I would try to upload a picture and see if that would work.
I moved to Boston at the end of July and finally found a job at Dana Farber Cancer Institute - I really like it so far, its much more fulfilling than working for that big real estate company!! I am still working at a little restaurant - Cambridge 1 but need to quit soon because its exhausted working two jobs and taking two classes.
I could write a lot more about Boston but I'll just tell you about my neighborhood for now. I live a 10 min walk to Harvard University (Harvard Square as they call it) and 10 min walk to Central Square which is the next stop on the subway, the "T". My apartment is called a "tripple decker" which I had never heard of before moving up there -its basically a 3 story house and each floor is an apartment. Originally they were meant for familys, for instance grandparents on one floor, and two sets of children on the others, but now they are usually young professionals. I'll upload more pictures when I get back to Boston!
This picture is of Boston - It was taken from the Duck Tour Boat - which is a WWII vehicle used for land and water "Duck" and now they use them as tourist attractions in Boston - drive around the streets and then plop into to Charles River. I've been running along the Charles River lately and this is the view I see! The river is only a few blocks from my apartment - less than 5 min walking!
Love,
Mercedes
